Typical Properties of Induction Hardened Chrome Plated (I.H.C.P.)

I.H.C.P. bars are induction hardened which offers an additional level of impact resistance over shafts that are just chrome plated only. This minimizes surface damage to the chrome from abrasion and/or impact. Surface Hardness is (Rc 50). Yield strength is approximately 110,000 PSI. Hard Chrome on Hard Surface. This material is an excellent choice for pneumatic and hydraulic applications.

Typical Properties of Hardened Chrome Plated Only (C.P.O.)

C.P.O. bars are chrome plated shafts, minus induction hardened surface of the shaft substrate. The outer surface of the shaft has high hardness chrome, the sub-surface of the shaft, (under the chrome), is not hardened. Chrome Hardness is (Rc 58/60). This material is an excellent choice for pneumatic and hydraulic applications where the further machining maybe required.
